A class action lawsuit filed in federal court last week on behalf of 2,300 Oregon residents with developmental disabilities charges that the state is violating the Americans with Disabilities Act by not providing supported employment services, which help people with disabilities work in the community. As a result, the suit indicates that those with disabilities are left with little choice where they earn far less than the state minimum wage of $8.80 per hour. The lawsuit calls for Oregon to revise its system to emphasize supported employment. This law protects individuals with developmental disabilities, like the named plaintiffs in this lawsuit. In a statement to the Portland Business Journal, the Oregon Department of Justice said the state is looking to improve services for those with disabilities and had already initiated meetings with stakeholders including the advocacy groups behind the lawsuit.

Having a help network for disabled is really a good idea. While there are several people who are disabled and are denied of basic facilities, it is important to create a help network to cater to the needs of these people. The good thing is that there are several agencies out there to help people suffering with disability. They offer several programs to help disabled people. Training the unemployed youth, guiding them to secure a job are some important tasks performed by these non-profit agencies.

However, it is important to create a help network so that these disabled people can be benefited out of it. This is where help network for disabled comes to the rescue. This help network can develop a co-ordination with the local agencies and share this information to every disabled person within that network. Awareness programs are developed to take this concept into the people. This makes life much easier for these people.
