Los Angeles Awarded Special Olympics World Games

Los Angeles will host the Special Olympics World Games in 2015. The games is returning to United States after the winter games in Boise, Idaho which was held in 2009. Los Angeles beat fellow-finalist South Africa in a bid process that lasted for a year. The summer games is expected to draw over 7,000 athletes and more than half a million visitors. Los Angeles will be a great stage for the athletes to showcase their talents. More Than 1 In 4 With Disabilities Living In Poverty

The number of Americans living in poverty is now higher than ever. To make things even worse, nearly 28 percent of people with disabilities were in poverty in 2010. The new census results released by U.S Census Bureau reveal that 12.5 percent of the general population now lives in poverty. It accounts for 46.2 million Americans, the highest number ever since the government began keeping track 52 years ago.
